The Department of Jewish Studies takes an interdisciplinary approach to the academic study of all aspects of Jewish life. Courses offered by the department address the historical, social, cultural, religious, linguistic, and political life of the Jewish people from antiquity to the present and examine the interactions of Jews with other peoples. The department’s seven core faculty members are complemented by twelve affiliated faculty from eight other departments, as well as visiting faculty sponsored by the Allen and Joan Bildner Center for the Study of Jewish Life.
