Spain
May 20-31, 2022
As an embedded component of a Spring 22 Honors Seminar, Professor Paola Tartakoff and Laura Gatzkiewicz led students on a trip to Spain focused on the histories of its Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities. The group visited Madrid, Segovia, Toledo, Granada, and Cordoba, learning about Spain’s cultural diversity. Discussion themes included the nature of religious identity, the consequences of religious intolerance, and varieties of cross-cultural influence.
