Important Information for Faculty

Plagiarism

It is advisable to introduce students to the importance of citing anything they use in their written work, and to underscore that the Internet is a source that requires citation and accurate referencing. Furthermore, it is a good idea to warn the students that transgression of the academic integrity policy of the university is grounds for probation and potential dismissal and that the Department of Jewish Studies stands by the university‚Äôs policies.  In addition to providing students with a link to the university policy on Academic Integrity (see attached), you may wish to include the following statement on plagiarism, from the History Department, or put a link to it on your syllabus:
