NJ.Com Thursday, February 5, 2009:Local teachers will be trained at Rutgers Master Teacher Institute in Holocaust Studies. During the two-year program, teachers will create educational programs for their schools and districts, such as teacher education programs or "Tolerance Day." The first year will focus on key events in Holocaust history; and the following year on survivors and the representation of the Holocaust. The program uses film, literature, photography, art and survivor testimonies to instruct the teachers, who will later use them in their classrooms. Participants will be taught by leading Holocaust scholars. They will tour Holocaust exhibits and have access to Rutgers faculty and resources. Read the full article on NJ.com.
