Anita Shapira

Anita Shapira is the Ruben Merenfeld Professor in the Study of Zionism and the Chair of the Chaim Weizmann Institute for the Study of Zionism and Israel at Tel Aviv University. She is currently a visiting professor at Columbia University. Dr. Shapira has published numerous books and articles on the history of Zionism, the Jewish community in Palestine, and the State of Israel. Her books include biographies of Berl Katznelson and Yigal Alon, as well as Land and Power: The Zionist Resort to Force, 1882-1948, which won the National Jewish Book Award.
