The conference will provide a comparative framework for the discussion of the transnational character of Eastern European Jewish culture, exploring its relationship with American and Israeli Jewish cultures since the late 19th century. Scholars will discuss the cultural interplay within such areas as language and literature, music and art, theater and film, tourism, and commemorative sites.

The March 18 sessions are free and open to the public.
